Our educational apostolate
10 Aug 2015, by Augustinians inThe Order of St. Augustine in the Catholic Church is traditionally interested in the educational apostolate; this should not surprise anyone because our holy father, St. Augustine, was an intellectual and a teacher. In the spirit of St. Augustine, we, the Augustinians, serve the Church and the world in various ways. One of the major ways we render these services is through our educational apostolate. We are greatly involved in the young ones’ education, using our schools as channels through which the faith of the holy mother Church is propagated and prepares the young ones to face the challenges of the modern world.
The Province of St. Augustine of Nigeria is not left out in this apostolate. Though we are a young province and not financially buoyant, we struggle with the help of our benefactors around the world to keep this Augustinian apostolate flying. Recently we made an appreciable move into the Southern part of Nigeria to make the Augustinian educational apostolate felt among the people of the region. We started building a school that will hopefully influence these people’s lives and reshapes their future for the glory of God.
We pray the Lord to bless the work of our hands because, unless he builds, in vain, we labor. He directed and blessed the work of the apostles; may he never let us labor in vain.
Amen. This time, i hope it will not benefit only the rich catholic faithfuls like other cotholic missionary Schools all over Nigeria. I attened one of them, very costly!!!!!!! God will help Us.
I’m sure you are very proud of the kind of training you got.
